100 word challenge week 11 – Remember

The First World War. I had a father in the war. But then I was only 5. I didn’t understand then, didn’t understand the tears on his face, didn’t understand his sorrow as he whispered “Remember, and be good,” Remember. That word still rings in my head. Now, every year, a two minute silence is held for the brave men that died in the war. One of those brave men was my father. My father was in the World War, my father was one of those brave men that died, my father was important. My father was the very important General.
